| Donations to the Band As you will appreciate, running an organisation such as the Chelmsford Citadel SA Band is a very expensive business, in time, effort and money. For every member of the band, it is a commitment of their spare time that has to be fitted around ever increasing work commitments. In addition all members of the band make a financial contribution towards the running of the band and provide their own uniform. Whilst a small amount (less than one third) of the money raised Christmas carol playing is retained for "re-investment" in the band, the majority of the money raised this way goes to general Salvation Army funding. Also, as part of The Salvation Army, we have no dealings with the National Lottery. However, the instruments we use are very expensive and are getting old; a number of the band's instruments are now over 10 years old and we are constantly looking to replace some of the instruments. They cost from around £1,000, for a cornet, up to £4,500 for the biggest tuba. To replace the whole set of instruments would cost about £75,000. Any financial assistance help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Whether you are in a position to purchase a whole instrument or would like to make a donation towards the purchase of one the band would be very grateful. Whatever your thoughts please contact the Band Secretary to discuss them. In addition to the band needing additional finance the work of the Salvation Army, both here and abroad continues and again needs to be financed. If you would like to make a donation to the work of The Salvation Army, click the graphic below. It will take you to a form on a secure server where you can enter your details. The last box on page 5 gives you the ability to direct your donation to any specific area of the Salvation Army's work.
